This card was purchased in London, England by my friend, Lotje. She scours all the great cities of Europe for unusual and beautiful vintage and antique postcards.
This postcard was shipped from The Netherlands to the USA by Lotje.
On the front of this unusual vintage birthday greeting postcard is an art portrait of a delightful Wire Fox or possibly a Wire Jack Russell Terrier.  There are also some roses.   This postcard was a Birthday Happiness greeting to a grandchild.   There is also a lovely poem:
The very best of
Birthday joy
I wish for you today.
And may good luck
and happiness
For ever with
you stay."
Around the perimeter is a lovely floral design embossment.   On the back is no handwriting.  However there is a manufacturer's message that says:   "
BRITISH PRODUCTION THROUGHOUT;  This is a Real Hand-Coloured Card
".
The postcard dates back to the early 1900s...perhaps sometime around 1908.
Measurements are approximately: 3.5" x 5.5" so this is a standard size postcard.   Aside from a few signs of surface wear on the front and some light soiling on the back, this card is still easy to see and appreciate!
