Description
OMAN—Official Guide—POSTAL HISTORY 1856-1985—Gently UsedThis is a gently used copy, first edition, of Oman Post's official guide,
The Postal History of Oman 1856-1985
, authorized by Ahmad bin Suwaidan Al-Balushi, Minister of Posts, Telegraphs and Telephones. It was released to mark Oman's 15th National Day and the 130th anniversary of the inception of its postal services. Bilingual in Arabic and English, it contains about 200 full-color richly illustrated pages jam-packed with data and cultural history. Scans show typical page layout and content.
This authoritative reference book is divided into 4 sections: Postal history under (1) Indian, (2) Pakistani, and (3) British administrations, (4) with most of its pages devoted to issue-by-issue details of all stamps produced by the independent Oman Post administration since 1966. There is also a complete illustrated listing of stamps issued by Zanzibar while under Oman's control, plus notes about Oman's activity in Gwadur (Pakistan), postmarks, and aerogrammes.
NOTE: Because of the weight and bulk of this lot, it must be shipped with protective wrappings and (with
a Customs declaration
for international sales), shipping cost will be within the United States, or to any international address.
