Description
An Exceptional and an original San Jose built Max VS1 oscillating Spindle Sander. The original company was sold off years ago and the newer versions were made in China. You can find low quality Chinese copies or worn out originals with broken parts, missing throat plates and missing spindles, but you won’t find one that’s in better condition and ready for many more years of service. The versatility and quality of the original San Jose built Max spindle sander is unparalleled. From pattern makers, furniture shops, metal shops and even legendary guitar maker Gibson, which has multiple MAX VS1 machines shaping guitar bodies in their factory, the Max VS1 is the obvious choice.
This VS1 runs silky smooth after the gearbox rebuild and the upgraded SKF German spindle bearings. Spindle sizes range from diameters of 1/4” up to 4”.
We have rebuilt, restored and sold multiple San Jose Max spindle and disc sanders over the last 30 years with several satisfied customers. Watch for upcoming listings of multiple Max spindle sanders and two 30”Max disc sanders that are absolutely stunning.
