    You are bidding on glossy 5" x 7" original photograph of MAURICE RAVEL at piano with PAUL WHITEMAN.

    The photo is glued to hardboard and has NUMEROUS CREASES on photo which are difficult to photograph.
    CULVER must have glued this as photo lies completely flat to 8" x 9" white board. (note picture loaned for one reproduction).
    I assume photo was taken during Ravel's 1928 4 month tour of United States. Photo may have been taken about March 12, 1924 when Ravel when to hear Whiteman and his orchestra at Liederkranz Hall in New York City with Bix Beiderbecke recording during one session pianist.
    Roy Bargy wrote, "Ravel listened to the band play Metropolis and a Suite of Serenades with mild interest, but was intrigues by the high caliber of musicianship in the band."
