    Description

    This old AH Reid patent screwdriver has the flat spring steel in two parts looped around the chuck. I think there must be a pin stuck in the chuck that pulled through the spring, I couldn't pull the bit out, no wiggle but I never force things, especially when I have never seen another example like it. The beaded rosewood cap has a flash of sap wood giving it a unique look. Both the cap guard and the chuck guard wood spins freely, if this is the right bit you could go right to work, best it hang on a wall somewhere to be admired though.
