    Description

A RARE THREE-INCH BLADE,  PATENTED STANLEY RATCHETING SCREWDRIVER
    STANLEY No. 216
The mechanism for this screwdriver was patented on November 24, 1925 by Stanley inventor Christian Bodmer.
The ferrule is imprinted with the number designation, Patent Date and the Stanley trademark.
This ratcheting screwdriver is obviously used but in serviceable condition. The blade tip and shank is in very good
condition for its age.  Overall Length = 6 Inches (Blade Length = 3 Inches)
This is an uncleaned, as found, tool.  Picture detail may not be perfectly clear - but we do our best.  We do not clean or polish antique / vintage tools so as not to devalue the item.  Any cleaning or polishing decision would be left to the purchaser.
The ratchet mechanism works as designed.  Just twist the large knurled ring to change the ratchets direction.
A really nice example of a Stanley ratcheting screwdriver - that still works!
