Antique rug hooking hand tool.
A recent find a our local flea market.  Just love old things.
This is a shuttle hook, or speed shuttle for loop hooking rugs.  It's made of wood and metal. Very sturdy.
It is inscribed with the previous owner's name "Grandma Eatherton's".
Although it's old it is still in good working condition.  It looks perhaps hand made, but I have no way of knowing.
It measures 8.25 inches long, 2.5 inches at it's widest point and a half inch thick.  It fits comfortably in the hand.
Primitive functional folk art, I was drawn to it for that very reason.  As is, as found. Please see photos.
