    Description

Four vintage all original very rare and hard to find 1920's/1930's/1940's Golden Age Of Opera operatic music photographs. These are from the estate of Dorothy Crowthers who was the Editor-In-Chief Of The Baton magazine of The Institute Of Musical Art Of The Juilliard School Of Music from 1922 to 1932. One 4 5/8" by 6 1/4" photo of violinists Edouard Dethier and Gaston Dethier matted and attached to a backing. The two brothers were musicians - Edouard was a soloist violinist and teacher and Gaston was a organist, pianist and composer. The photo and backing are in very good to excellent condition. One early 1900's 1910's/1920's promo promotional publicity glossy 9" by 7" photo of Henry Byron Warner attached to a black heavy stock paper backing. The photo is marked "Witzel,...". The back is stamped "H. B. Warner". Warner was a English film and theatre actor popular during the silent film era. The photo shows some storage wear. One photo greeting card - "Happy Easter" and on the inside "Easter Greetings From John S. Van Gilder, Hampshire House, New York". The card also has a typed tissue paper insert note explaining the photo on the card- "Amaryllis Grown By John S. ...". The card and insert are in excellent near mint condition. One large opening greeting card-type photo with a photo on the front covered by tissue paper. The photo shows a man in a pith helmet. The backing is marked "Miss Chang (?), Hong Kong". I am not sure who he is but I would assume he is music/opera related. The photo card is in very good to excellent condition. I will be listing many other photos from the estate some signed and some unsigned in the near future. These items are sold as is and as pictured with returns not accepted. .00 USPS insured postage.
